An award winning ferry service since 1997, Sunferries provides the quickest link between Townsville and Magnetic Island in just 20 minutes with 19 return services per day including late night services aboard high speed fast cats. There is comfortable lounge seating, a free luggage service which includes bikes and freight up to 20 kilograms, a licensed bar and snack foods available for purchase. Terminal facilities include luggage storage, internet den, travel desk,
cafe and parking.

Vessels carry up to 300 passengers and are equipped with a licensed bar. Ferry services depart daily leaving Townsville at 5.35 a.m. The last ferry leaves Townsville at 12:30 a.m. on the weekends and 11:30 p.m. on weekdays. Sunferries has two terminals. The Breakwater Terminal, Townsville and the Nelly Bay Terminal, Magnetic Island.
