Chillagoe Hub and Information Centre
Chillagoe is the easiest accessible outback experience available within a relatively short distance west of Cairns. It's only about two hours 30 minutes from Cairns and one hour 30 minutes from Mareeba with only 18 kilometres of unsealed road. On approaching Chillagoe, the dominating, sheer rock formations announce that Chillagoe is not far away.
Chillagoe is famous for its World Class Caves offering guided tours by National Park Ranger Guides every day except Christmas Day. Tours are offered through the Donna, Trezkinn and Royal Arch Caves. The interiors of the Caves are usually dry with a pleasant ambient temperature on constructed paths.
