Coral Sea Kayaking, based in Mission Beach, offer trips paddling to stunning rainforest clad National Park Islands within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Half day and one day trips visit Dunk Island or paddle along the tropical coastline.

The extended trips can go up to seven days and include camping and paddling through uninhabited islands, such as Hinchinbrook Island, the Family and Barnard Island. Their qualified, friendly guides have a wealth of knowledge regarding the local history, the island and reef ecology and they take pride in offering ecologically sound trips.

Coastal Paddle

After a short briefing by the friendly guide, you leave South Mission Beach. Paddle along the coast enjoying the beautiful views of the rainforest-clad islands and tropical coast. Turtles and the occasional dolphin or dugongs may be seen as you paddle along sandy bays and rocky headlands. The guides have plenty of interesting stories regarding the local history, mangrove and reef ecology. Along the way, stop for a swim or stroll, a light snack of homemade snacks and fresh tropical fruit. An active fun way to experience deserted beaches and stunning coastline.

Dunk Island Sea Kayaking

Explore Dunk Island by sea kayak, away from the noise and bustle of motors. View the rainforest-clad island as you paddle across to Dunk Island. Exploring the shallow waters and fringing reef, you may see turtles and rays swim past. Relax on the beach, swim in the warm tropical waters or try snorkelling. After a luscious picnic lunch, you may enjoy a rainforest walk and learn about the Island ecology and it's aboriginal past. Return to the kayaks for the afternoon paddle to further explore the nearby Islands and back to the mainland.

Hinchinbrook and Family Islands (seven days)

This seven day sea kayaking trip includes the five-day Hinchinbrook Island Itinerary, plus more time to explore the islands and beaches. Paddle on northwards to the smaller Family Islands. The waters which surround Hinchinbrook and the Family Islands are part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, world renowned for it's abundant marine life offering a chance to view many marine creatures including turtles and hopefully dugongs whilst on the water.

Hinchinbrook Island Kayak (five days)

Paddle the coast of Hinchinbrook Island National Park, and camp on the white sandy beaches. It is a true taste of paradise and lets you enjoy nature at its best. The breathtaking beauty of this Island wilderness, the lush tropical rainforest gives way to towering granite peaks and below are countless sheltered sandy bays. Three to four hours paddling each day allows time to explore, swim in clear fresh water pools, relax and enjoy this pristine environment. Evenings are spent camping under the stars. Enjoy some local tales from the experienced guides.

One of Australia's top sea kayaking destinations, Hinchinbrook Island and the many other smaller uninhabited islands that sit of the coast of the Mission Beach region.

Tropical Island Kayak (three days)

Three days spent exploring, paddling and camping on uninhabited tropical islands, peace and tranquility of secluded beaches. Marine life abounds in these waters with dugongs, turtles and many tropical fish. The small group will paddle approximately two to three hours a day in double sea kayaks, leaving time to explore the islands, snorkel over the fringing reef or chill out and relax on beautiful beaches. Their guides has a wealth of knowledge about the local ecology and cultural history of this unspoilt region. In the evenings enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset before tucking into a delicious hearty dinner under a canopy of stars.
