Chichester Gardens Cottage is a historic two room holiday accommodation cottage situated in magnificent tree lined Stanley Street, North Adelaide and just a short stroll to Melbourne Street which has a variety of eating establishments, hotels, art galleries and shops.
Chichester Gardens was the site of Adelaide’s first vineyard planted by John Barton Hack, the first grapes were present to Governor Hindmarsh for his table. Hindmarsh declared the grapes "'excellent". A "Stanley Street Stroll" is set out in a free brochure printed by the Adelaide City Council with 35 properties listed.
The cottage built in 1851 is now air conditioned and used for tourist accommodation with choices. Serviced upon arrival and providing tea and coffee making facilities you can stay with daily service and continental breakfast or at a cheaper rate without daily service or breakfast. Recent upgrades include a courtyard makeover and wireless Internet is available free to guests.
