Large in scale and constructed of sandstone with stuccoed dressings, The Manse was originally a minister's residence. It then became a Theological College in 1951.
When the college moved in 1956, The Manse was divided into flats. Twenty years passed until an architect saw potential for it to become a small, exclusive restaurant. Opening in June 1978 as Gray's Fish Manse, the building has been a restaurant host ever since.
