The Melting Pot was named Best New Restaurant in 2000 and 2001 by American Express. Other awards include Mietta's Eating and Drinking in Australia, Best New Restaurant in 2000; and Mietta's Eating and Drinking in Australia, Three Plates Award in 2001 and 2002.
Head Chef Sandor Palmai trained in Sydney at Bondi's acclaimed Bluewater Grill. His intuitive, outstanding culinary skills have earned him much acclaim and respect within the industry - not just within Australian, but overseas.
Sandor's presence and skills have been summoned by restaurants around the world - he has made guest chef appearances in establishments such as Aubergine Restaurant, Los Angeles; Manka's Inverness Lodge, Sanoma Coast; Halekulani Hotel, Hawaii and Au Jardin, Singapore.
In 2004 Sandor was chef presenter at the Noosa Food and Wine Festival in Queensland and was invited to cook for the book launch of celebrated Italian chef Antonio Carluccio in 2005.
Now in his new role as Head Chef of the Melting Pot restaurant, Sandor's modern French influenced culinary skills are bringing this petite yet elegant, award-winning Adelaide establishment back to its roots - an experience not to be missed.
