Lobethal Tapestry
The Lobethal Tapestry is a 1.65 x 2.50 metre work of art and history in the making. It is designed to depict the history of Lobethal from before white settlement in 1842 to the present day. The creative process is particularly interesting because the weavers are following the lines of a full size ‘cartoon’ which is set up immediately behind the work in progress. You may see the tapestry weavers at work on this colourful project whenever the Adelaide Hills Market at Lobethal is open.
