The National Costume Museum

Visit Lobethal's best kept secret, The National Costume Museum.

The museum has a fascinating collection of original gowns and suits from 1812 to 2000 on display in the old 'finishing room' of the former Onkaparinga Woollen Mill, at Lobethal in the Adelaide Hills. This display showcases the evolution of fashion and accessories including beautiful antique wedding gowns complete with veils, ball gowns, handbags, buttons, hats 1872 - 2000 and much more.

The collection contains a wealth of South Australian design and clothing history and features special displays.

If you are looking for fashion ideas to suit your antique or classic car, our displays and large collection of fashion books are available for your reference.

Wine tasting is available by appointment.
