Humbug Scrub Wildlife Sanctuary

Humbug Scrub Wildlife Santuary is a private sanctuary. It is an Australian icon, established by Thomas Bellchambers in 1905 and it is staffed by volunteers. The sanctuary is a registered charity and relies on donations.

Visit the cottage museum, built in 1919. Enjoy a stroll through the santuary, see the lakes, feed the animals (kangaroos, wallabies and emus). See many other animals, talk to the birds or join one of our animal walks. Have a chat to the grandson of the founder. Evening walks are available by appointment.

The sanctuary is approximately 40 kilometres from Adelaide city. It is less than 20 kilometres from Elizabeth, 25 kilometres from Gawler and less than 30 kilometres from Modbury.
