Chateau Barrosa Rose Garden

Chateau Barossa Rose Garden is the inspiration of Mr HT Thumm who, in wanting to leave a worthwhile and lasting legacy to South Australian and the Barossa Valley in particular, has developed one of the world's great rose collections in the Barossa Valley at Lyndoch. Officially opened by Her Majesty The Queen on Thursday 28 February 2002 on her last visit to South Australia, the Chateau Barossa Rose Garden is open free of charge everyday of the year.

With the planting of more than twenty thousand rose bushed of over two thousand varieties, in the winter of 2000, in HT's already established park covering 30 acres, the Chateau Barossa Rose Garden, now in its fifth year, is a garden not only of delight, inspiration and reflection, but of education and ideas.

HT Extends an invitation to you to wander along more than three kilometres of meandering pathways that lead past collections of roses from the world's well known and well loved rose breeders. Here, water features and established native and exotic trees provide a unique and charming setting for displaying one of the world's most cherished flowers.

When visiting the Rose Garden, take full advantage of what the Chateau Barossa has to offer, including the Rose Garden Restaurant (perfect for lunch and dinner, bookings essential), Antiques Museum and Cellar Door.

Taste our new range of grape liqueurs including the very popular rose flavoured Turkish Delight. A pre dinner walk is a particular delight along the meandering pathways through the roses, taking advantage of the enchanting twilight, with muted shades of pinks and blues reflecting from the nearby Barossa Ranges.
