Peter Seppelt Wines and Grand Cru Wood Oven Restaurant
The Seppelt family has been making wine for more than 150 years and Peter Seppelt is the fifth generation to continue the winemaking tradition. Visit their estate and cellar door.
Set in rolling hills, the vineyards all have a north-easterly aspect giving maximum exposure to the sunlight. Conditions are ideal for the production of high quality wines. Old stone buildings on the Estate have been restored and new ones added to make the property historically authentic.
Twenty five years ago Karl, Lotte and Peter came across the 120 hectares, which has become Grand Cru Estate. Grand Cru, meaning fine wine, suits our aim of producing fine wine because of perfect elevation in a wonderful cool climate. The wine grapes are picked from our property and made into wine on site using traditional methods.
The vineyards are planted at an altitude of 450 metres and are cool by comparison to most of South Australia's vineyards.
You can enjoy our wines whilst dining in our Grand Cru Wood Oven Restaurant the gourmet pizzas are great. Open Friday and Saturday evenings, bookings essential. Group bookings available by appointment.
