Liebichwein
The Liebich family began winemaking at Rowland Flat in 1919, and in 1992, Ron Liebich founded Liebichwein producing a variety of reds and whites, plus a unique range of special fortified wines. Popular bulk blends are available for drinking now or for further keg maturation. Ron and Janet Liebich describe themselves as a friendly family business, and indeed visitors can be sure of seeing the winemaker. Ron Liebich is a third generation winemaker.
Liebichwein's vineyard property was originally settled in 1848 by South Australia's first potter, Samuel Hoffmann. Ever since, the grapes grown on the heavy red and black soils of these cool Eastern slopes have produced wines of high quality with a distinctive "Barossa fruit' character.
Only locally grown grapes are use. Bulk port is sold at the cellar door, bring your own container or buy one.
