Bungaree Station
In its heyday, Bungaree was like a small village with its beautiful sandstone Woolshed, Shearers Quarters, Stable Yard, Station Store, Managers House, staff cottages and even the District Council Chambers and a Church.
Today it is still one of Australia's parent merino studs and many of the buildings have been converted into comfortable accommodation. Guests can participate in the daily farm activities, use the swimming pool and the professional gymnasium or simply sit around a bon fire and enjoy a glass of local wine or port from one of the 24 wineries in the Clare Valley district. There are also bush walking trails where fallow deer and kangaroos are to be seen in the hills.
Guests are offered exceptional accommodation and the opportunity to view life as it was in the nineteenth century, in a way that a museum simply could not do.
