Tim Gramp Wines
Tim Gramp is a fifth generation member of the family which made Orlando famous and is a graduate of South Australia's Roseworthy College.
Tim has continued the tradition by flying the flag under his personal label. In 1991, after having worked in the McLaren Vale region for a number of years, Tim gained access to some superb shiraz fruit which led to the first vintage of the Tim Gramp label. A grenache was added to the range a couple of years later.
The aim of the Tim Gramp label is to highlight varietal selection with definitive regions. A classic dry style of riesling was next on the portfolio and Tim immediately set his sights on Clare Valley, in particular the Watervale region.
A previous winery site with a cabernet sauvignon vineyard came on the market in 1996. Nestled in the hamlet of Leasingham, Tim and Kathy Gramp bought the property, extensively renovating the 1860s cottage and re-establishing the winery complex. This is now the operational base and cellar door sales for Tim Gramp Wines.
