The Citadel is a fully licensed cafe restaurant with a strong local reputation for freshness, flavour and value for money. The menu here at Citadel Casual Dining is created by local chef and owner Bill Bain, a fusion of Italian and Mediterranean featuring the freshest breads, meats, pastas, seafood’s and vegetables to make your dining experience a memorable one.
As the name suggests you can come to the Citadel to relax in this restored 1895 bluestone cottage. It is truly a citadel of casual dining in the Clare Valley. Sitting on the hillside overlooking the southern entrance to the Clare and surrounding vines. We have definitely established ourselves as a market leader with guaranteed good food, great wine and a friendly atmosphere; all without breaking the budget.
Whatever you do, don’t miss our outdoor verandah and patio during those warm summer months to take in a glass of wine or view a movie in the outdoor cinema. During the winter months the verandah becomes enclosed with heating. Cosy booth seating all year round, rustic walls with diffused lighting creates a setting equally suitable for business or casual dining.
“Breakfast at the Globe” weekend breakfasts available from 9.30am Saturday, Sunday and Easter Friday and Monday are a Citadel speciality.
