Timandra Garden and Design
A garden with the 'wow' factor, Timandra is a multi award winning, Ecotourism accredited attraction not be missed with a visit to the Clare Valley. With an enormous diversity of plants within a sustainable design, you too can experience this 'exceptional, accredited sustainable garden that demonstrates the success of waterwise plant selection and appropriate watering techniques' - as stated in the AOGS Guidebook for 2007-08. It is loved by all age groups with room for children to run and play under the canopy of large trees; there is also a picnic area for family gatherings.
Timandra is a large, classic garden with many different 'rooms', all with a different mood. Created by sustainable Landscape Design specialist, Alison Aplin, it is a garden for those looking for a relaxing diversion while also being a specialist garden for the most ardent garden lover.
Being 90 minutes drive from Adelaide and situated on the western boundary of the Mintaro township, Timandra is a great place to visit for the self-guided visitor, but for more input about sustainable practice and design, guided tours are recommended. Guided tours can be associated with Devonshire Teas and Garden Quiz, a popular segment with group bookings.
