Market Square Museum

If you want to have a look at Burra's heritage you should include a visit to the Market Square Museum, Burra's first museum, opened by the National Trust in 1966.

It is a recreation of an old style general store and family home, which operated from the 1880's. Come in and have a look at the old style shop, clothing, dining room, bedroom and kitchen. See a very old cash register and clocks. There are old posters and even old fashion sweets for sale to remind you of treats in the past plus lots more to reminisce about.

View the locally made goods and handcrafts for sale in the shop.

Guided tours are at 10.30am everyday except Tuesday. Guided tours for groups are available by arrangement.
