Border Village

From Nullarbor to the border the highway has been built close to the coastal cliffs, and the 184 kilometre journey has been broken up with five scenic lookouts where travellers may take advantage of the panoramic views of the Great Australian Bight and its rugged coastline. Due to the nature of the crumbly cliffs visitors are advised to approach with caution all lookout sites. South Australian coastal waters are frequented by several species of whales during their annual migration from the Southern Ocean. All whales and dolphins are protected when in Australian waters.

The Border Village complex provides accommodation, 24-hour fuel and a fascinating signpost showing the distances to many parts of the world and "Rooey 11", the giant Red Kangaroo. Cross the border and you're in Western Australia, with Eucla the first town, only 13 kilometres down the road.
