Middleback Theatre and Whyalla Cinema
Whyalla's Middleback Theatre is one of four regional arts venues owned and operated by Country Arts South Australia.
It is a fully equipped, multi purpose arts centre and can accommodate a diverse range of conferences, performing arts, seminars and movie screenings in the Whyalla Cinema.
Situated on the main thoroughfare of Whyalla, on Nicolson Avenue it is in the heart of the cultural and education precinct of the city.
Features include a 210 seat Whyalla Cinema with state of the art projection equipment and surround Dolby SR sound, a 500 seat proscenium arch auditorium with stage depth of 10.8 metres by 16.7 metres wide.
The Middleback Theatre also boast a spacious foyer with track lighting suited for exhibitions and a licensed bar. There is ample car parking with four car parks for the disabled, disabled access into the theatre with room for five wheelchairs plus a sound loop for the hearing impaired. Phone, fax, photocopying, and Internet facilities in a fully air conditioned venue make this an ideal venue for conferences and launches.
