Penny's Hill
Established in 1988, Penny's Hill is a small producer of top quality estate-grown wines. Sourcing grapes from close planted, low yielding vineyards located on the foothills east of McLaren Vale or from Bay of Biscay soils nearer Willunga, Penny's Hill is building an enviable reputation for high quality, concentrated wines with excellent regional expression.
1995 saw the release of the very first wine under the Penny's Hill label, a modest 141 dozen of Shiraz, dressed in the now distinctive red dot packaging. In 2001 cellars were opened at Ingleburne, an 1850's historic farm located two kilometres south of McLaren Vale.
The Penny's Hill range includes the highest quality Shiraz, Specialized Shiraz, Cabernet and Merlot blend and lightly wooded Chardonnay, as well as small quantities of Grenache, Semillon and Merlot.
Wines are made by experienced McLaren Vale winemaker, Ben Riggs using the very best of our estate grown grapes. Wines under the Penny's Hill label are fruit driven, complex, well balanced and show an excellent use of the very best oak.
In Australia distribution is through cellar door and direct mail. Home to Penny's Hill, the Ingleburne Farm complex offers cellars, art gallery and functions as well as Fleurieu Inspired Morsels seven days a week from the Penny's Hill kitchens.
Penny's Hill is able to host a wide range of function activities from business meetings, product launches to weddings and parties. We will continue to graze black-faced sheep, feed chickens and grow nice green grass.
Proudly Australian, more so McLaren Vale.
