The Salopian Inn is an award-winning restaurant located on the outskirts of McLaren Vale, South Australia. You'll enjoy the finest food and wine in a relaxed country atmosphere.
The Salopian Inn's home is a slate-floored, stone building dating from 1851. Much of the original building remains, including the three-room cellar where you can choose wine from an extensive range. Naturally, this wine range features the fine wines from the surrounding vineyards of McLaren Vale – one of Australia's most famed wine regions.
The Inn also offers choice interstate and selected international wines.
In creating the seasonally changing menus, chef Nigel Munzberg selects only the best ingredients, preferring local fresh produce where possible.
And there's more than just a restaurant here. Dowie Doole and Gemtree Vineyards have combined forces to establish a cellar door at the Salopian Inn. The complete range of wines from both of these outstanding McLaren Vale producers is available for wine flight tastings and sales.
The Salopian Inn's menu may include dishes like Ratatouille Stuffed Baby Squid with Julienne Zucchini, Olives; or Grilled Onkaparinga Valley Venison with Roasted Carrot and Sweet Potato, Poached Bone Marrow and a Pepper Jus.
The dessert menu has featured Sablé Pastry Glazed Lemon and Lime Tart with a Citrus and Ginger Salad and Double Cream; or Gewurztraminer Poached Beurre Bosc Pear with Toffee, Pistachio Ice Cream and a Wicked Chocolate Sauce.
