Newland Head Conservation Park
Situated seven kilometres west of Victor Harbor on the southern coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula, Newland Head Conservation Park is popular with skilled surfers, fishers and beachcombers. This park protects two long beaches, the rocky headland which the park takes its name from and surrounding coastal vegetation. Rolling hills and rugged cliffs provide panoramic views of the Waitpinga Creek, Encounter Bay, The Pages in Backstairs Passage and Kangaroo Island. Walks are available from the bush campground which also contains tables, gas barbecues and public toilet. Due to the fragile coastal environment, wood fires are prohibited all year.
Camping facilities available at Waitpinga. Camping prices are for one night only - AUD8.00 per vehicle, AUD5.00 per motorcycle, AUD4.00 no vehicle per person. Campers are also required to pay a once only park entry fee where applicable.
