Bendleby Ranges has everything a bush holiday destination needs, from various camping and accommodation options to a wide variety of experiences.
There is a range of four-wheel drive trips, varying from one to five hours. Local scenery and ridgetop views are spectacular. Drive yourself tours can be matched to your experience and sense of adventure.
Secluded campsites cater for all, with complete isolation. Two-wheel drive and caravan access is possible to some campsites. Hot showers are available within a five to ten minute drive.
Bushwalkers are encouraged to explore the spectacular surroundings of four-wheel drive tracks and pristine wilderness of three marked bushwalking trails Eke's Peak, Yakka Gorge and Hidden Valley.
Accommodation options include Crotta Homestead, Gumdale Cottage, Johnburgh School House, and the Shearer's Quarters. They are fully self contained, air conditioned in the living area, sleep eight to 14 people and have a covered outdoor eating area.

CROTTA HOMESTEADBuilt in 1890's, Crotta Homestead is a classic country style four bedroom stone homestead, with rustic charm. The main living areas are air conditioned, with ceiling fans, and a slow combustion heater in the lounge. It sleeps eight people and is ideal for two families, with two bedrooms with a double bed, and two bedrooms with twin beds. There is a screened eating area and a gas barbecue on the verandah. Just bring your food and bedding. GumdaleLocated two kilometres west of The Springs amongst old and newly planted native trees, and on the banks of Gum Creek, is Gumdale Cottage. The self-contained cottage has three bedrooms to support eight guests and is well-suited to families and smaller groups. It includes a large covered barbecue and amenities area, and a slate table and seats, with views of the Bendleby and Hungry Ranges. School HouseLocated 20 kilometres south of The Springs in the ghost town of Johnburgh is the old school building which caters for eight to 11 guests. This three bedroom building plus mezzanine has a fully equipped kitchen, and separate bathroom and restroom conveniences making it ideal for families and large groups, with adjacent camping area. Shearers QuartersLocated at The Springs, near the office and reception, the Shearers' Quarters comfortably accommodates 14 people. There are six adjoining twin share bedrooms, two containing an extra bed. A toilet and shower facility has been made available for the disabled. A communal kitchen and spacious dining/entertainment area are well equipped with two refrigerators and gas stoves. Located outside is a three-sided multi-purpose shelter, amenities block, fire-ring, and a large character stone table. | |
