Adelaide to Melbourne (or reverse) Three Day Adventure Tour - GS01Enjoy this three day Adelaide to Melbourne adventure tour, full of fun and real activities. Highlights of the tour include adventure caving or guided tours through the World Heritage listed Naracoorte Caves and Fossil Centre. Free wine tasting in the Limestone Coast region. Hiking and sightseeing through the Grampian National Park, Australian birds and wildlife (koala's, kangaroos, emus) Brambuck Aboriginal Cultural Centre to the stunning scenery along the Great Ocean Road. . Day One – Adelaide - Limestone Coast (wine tasting and adventure caving). Departing Adelaide 0730 we travel up through the picturesque Adelaide Hills with morning coffee break at Hahndorf a small German tourist village, crossing the great Murray River and then heading south towards the rural south eastern area of South Australia to discover the Limestone Coast region. Activities for the day include - Free wine tasting sampling great wines grown and made in this beautiful area. Experience the thrill of adventure caving where you get down and get dirty crawling, sliding and scrambling through tunnels and chambers. Helmet, light, overalls and kneepads all provided. Optional guided cave tours. Explore the Naracoorte Caves, South Australia's only World Heritage listed site and take a walk back through time at Wonambi Fossil Centre, a prehistoric world with recreated forests and animals including giant kangaroos, wombats and giant snakes. Finishing the day at Naracoorte Backpackers Hostel for a great Aussie barbecue with a glass of wine. Time to unwind and relax at one of the friendliest country hostels in South Australia. (Internet facilities available at the hostel). . Day Two – Naracoorte - the Grampians National Park (bushwalking, sightseeing and Australian animals). After a hearty breakfast we depart Naracoorte at 0800 and travel across the South Australian/Victorian border through to the Grampians National Park for an action packed day of sightseeing, exploring and bushwalking. The Grampians is renowned for its grand and rugged ranges along with its abundance of wildlife and fauna. Be ready to put on your boots and experience. A bushwalk hiking up through the Grand Canyon and then onto the famous peak The Pinnacle with stunning views overlooking the Grampians Mckenzie Falls - one of Victoria's largest and most majestic waterfalls. Reeds Lookout with its breathtaking views. Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre which brings to life the history and culture of the aboriginal communities within this region. Tower Hill is an extinct volcanic crater now home to an abundance of Australian bird and wildlife, get up close to kangaroos, emus and koalas. After a full day of activity travel south down to Warrnambool on the Great Ocean Road for dinner and time to unravel with a relaxing night at one of the best coastal hostels in Victoria. (Free use of bikes for riding on the bike track along the sea foreshore or grab a boogie board and go body surfing with the beach only a few minutes from the hostel). . Day Three – Warrnambool – Great Ocean Road – Melbourne (boogie boarding, sightseeing and the Twelve Apostles). After a relaxing evening we will cruise along the Great Ocean Road, which winds its way along Victoria's magnificent south west coast. It is dramatically beautiful a journey of contrasts from massive rock formations sculptured by the waves to stunning beaches and ancient rainforest. Visiting many of the great highlights along this scenic route - the Twelve Apostles are the third most visited natural site in Australia with its huge 70 metre cliffs and each rock stack being between 45-65 metres high. Helicopter flights available at AUD60.00 with magnificent views of the coastline. Bay of Islands, London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge. Shipwreck coast - 160 ships have been shipwrecked along the 130 kilometre stretch of coastline from moonlight head to Port Ferry. Enjoy a breathtaking walk through the ancient rainforests at Melba with lush fern gullies and towering gum trees. Boogie boarding - head down to the beach for some fun in the surf (subject to weather conditions). Koalas/native birds - Kennett River is nestled amid the gums at the foot of the Ottways and here we see more koalas and feed native parrots. After an exciting day the last leg of the journey is spent travelling through the scenic coastal towns of Lorne, Anglesea and Torque (home of Quicksilver and Rip Curl) to the final destination arriving in Melbourne at approximately 1830. .
