Central Highlands Lodge (Accommodation)
Central Highlands Lodge is on the shores of the Great Lake at Miena, in central Tasmania. “Gateway” to Tasmania’s Central Plateau and world premier trout fishing grounds with around 3000 lakes, it is the most central fishing lodge to the famous fisheries of the Western Lakes, Arthurs Lake, Penstock and Little Pine Lagoons, all of which hold an abundance of wild brown trout.
We will be happy to recommend the best spots to see or fish. For the best fishing results hire one of our professional fishing guides – complete with equipment, transport and a picnic lunch. We have a private fishing lake full of wild brown trout just for our guests to try their hand at.
The lodge supplies its own itinerary for those wishing to explore Tasmania’s mountainous plateau. Take one of our daytrips to various locations or join our evening eco-spotlighting tour.
In the evening, relax in comfort by roaring log fires and dine in our restaurant for a hearty meal.
Sample some of the best wines Tasmania has to offer whilst exchanging stories with our other guests, and some local personalities, accompanied by soft music and a warm friendly atmosphere this makes for an enjoyable Tasmanian experience.
