Great Lake Hotel
The Great Lake Hotel is on the shores of the Great Lake at Miena, Tasmania. In the heart of Tasmania’s Central Plateau, the Great Lake Hotel is ideally situated to take advantage of many excellent trout waters that attract fly-casting visitors from across the country and around the world.
The hotel is 90 minutes drive from Hobart in the south and Launceston in the north.
The Great Lake is surrounded by hundreds of lakes. No matter how long you stay you need never fish in the same place twice, but you’ll probably find a favourite spot. The hotel has information about trout-fishing tours, guides and the world famous mayfly waters. We also have boat hire and can supply fishing licenses.
After a days hard work on the lake shore or the river bank you’ll come back to a roaring fire, a good hot meal and convivial company - I nearly had him - a good three feet long!
The Great Lake Hotel offerers a range of modern self contained ensuite rooms, family rooms and angler’s cabins also suitable for backpackers. We also have conference facilities.
Family rate for apartment accommodation is $135.00 per night.
