Nestled in the foothills of Mount Field you will find the delightful Hopfield Country Cottages. Circa 1890, the accommodation is in the small hamlet of Ellendale. The two conjoined old weatherboard cottages were originally built as a farmhouse for a hops and small fruit farm, later becoming a shop that only ceased trading in about 1950. They are a perfect blend of old and new, featuring attractive country furnishings, tasteful modern conveniences and comfortable beds. A home away from home!
These delightfully restored cottages are an idyllic respite between Strahan and Hobart. Stay for a night or take time to relax and experience country life. There is a cosy one-bedroom unit for two adults, plus a two-bed roomed unit, which accommodates four people - one double bedroom and a second bed-sitting room with twin beds. Sit on the back veranda and enjoy the perfumed gardens, or have an alfresco breakfast in the sun. Full breakfast provisions are included.
Hopfield Cottages are the perfect base to explore the South West Wilderness - take a picnic and have a pleasant day driving to Lake Pedder.
