Acacia Bed and Breakfast offers heritage-style accommodation in Sheffield, north west Tasmania. Sheffield is a forty-minute drive south of Devonport (30 kilometres) and an hour from Launceston (93 kilometres).
Built in 1906, Acacia is a beautifully-restored country house surrounded by extensive cottage gardens. Originally built as a family home, it features large rooms, three-metre ceilings and five open fireplaces. You can choose from a two bedroom, en suite room, with one queen and two single beds, or a large double room or twin room, each with a private bathroom. All rooms have electric blankets, heating, clock radio and hairdryer.
A home cooked breakfast, featuring fresh Tasmanian produce, is served in the dining room each morning. The guest lounge has a cosy log fire – the perfect place to relax on cool evenings with an after-dinner port, coffee and home-baked biscuits. There is also a television, DVD player, books and games. Acacia also has a guest laundry, outside barbecue and tea and coffee making facilities.
In Sheffield, you can admire the town’s impressive collection of public murals. Over 47 murals have been painted on Sheffield’s shops and public buildings. The town also hosts tha annual Global Mural Fest – an international mural competition.
