Glencoe Rural Retreat
Glencoe Rural Retreat offers four-star bed and breakfast accommodation at Barrington, near Sheffield, Tasmania.
Glencoe Farm Guest House was once a dairy farm, and sits among fertile Kentish Plains overlooked by craggy Mount Roland. Glencoe is situated at the gateway to Cradle Mountain, the lakes district and the World Heritage Area.
French-born Remi and Ginette Bancal, formerly at Calstock Guest House, in 2006 completely renovated and decorated Glencoe in a very chic French country style, and with lovely modern bathrooms.
Glencoe has four ensuite guest rooms, a guest lounge, breakfast and casual dining room. The atmosphere is friendly and intimate.
Glencoe is open during the day as a garden tea-room serving light traditional French cooking.
Remi and Ginette offer theirs guests a traditional French provincial dinner using fresh produce from their own garden - pre-booking only.
Glencoe is blessed with wonderful attractions and activities within easy reach to suit everyone: garden tours, horse riding, fishing, bush walking, antiques, wineries, berry farms and cheese tasting.
Glencoe Farm is within 60 minutes of Cradle Mountain, 30 minutes from Devonport ferry terminal, so make Glencoe your first or last stop or simply a “pied à terre” when visiting Tasmania.
