Wings Wildlife Park (Accommodation)
Wings Wildlife Park is an animal sanctuary offering cabin accommodation at Gunn’s Plains, north-west Tasmania. Gunns Plains is 30 minutes south-west of Ulverstone (30 kilometres/19 miles).
Wings Wildlife Park offers rustic timber cabins, backpacker units, a caravan park and campsites. The six, self-contained cabins sleep up to five guests and include linen, towels and basic kitchen facilities. En suite cabins are also available. The backpacker units include a heater, kettle, refrigerator and small stove and have a water supply close by. You can also camp at powered or unpowered sites in a large grassed area along the banks of the Leven River. There are 10 powered sites, an amenities block with a laundry and access for guests with a disability.
As a cabin guest, you can purchase discounted entry for the wildlife park for the duration of your stay. Walk through the grounds to see Australian native animals including Tasmanian devils, wombats, birds, lizards and snakes as well as freshwater crocodiles, camels and American bison. The native animals at Wings Wildlife Park have all been rescued following injury and are released into their natural habitat when rehabilitated.
Wings Wildlife Park also has a tearoom and souvenir shop.
