Leven Valley Vineyard
The Leven Valley Vineyard is located at Gunns Plains, northwest Tasmania. Gunns Plains sits beneath the Dial Range, a 20-minute drive south of Ulverstone (20 kilometres).
The one-hectare vineyard (2.5 acres) specialises in pinot noir and chardonnay grapes. Visit the tasting room and gallery to sample Leven Valley’s cool-climate wines and enjoy the views of the Gunns Plains and Leven River. See the work of local artisans, including ceramics by Helmut Schwabe, jewellery design by Rebecca Walsh, and works in fine Tasmanian timbers by Steve Usher. Warm yourself by the gallery’s wood fire in winter, and on summer days, enjoy a glass of wine and a platter of local cheeses in the vineyard garden.
You can also visit nearby Gunns Plains Cave to see limestone formations, a subterranean river, and colony of glow-worms. Visit the spectacular Leven Canyon, or Winterbrook Falls, where you can see a remnant stand of 1,000 year-old King Billy pine trees.
