Seven Sheds Brewery Meadery and Hop Garden

Seven Sheds offers beer and wine tastings in central Railton on Tasmania’s northwest coast. Within easy touring distance of some of north western Tasmania’s great food and wine attractions and close to Railton’s topiaries, the Seven Sheds cellar door is a “must see” on day tours out of Launceston, Devonport and Burnie areas and for visitors travelling to Cradle Mountain or along Tasmania’s northwest coast.
Seven Sheds is owned and operated by Australia’s foremost beer writer Willie Simpson and his partner Catherine Stark. Author of The beer Bible, Amber and Black and Home Brew and an award-winning home-brewer, Willie turned to brewing commercial batches of hand-crafted beers in his Railton backyard in 2008. The first release Kentish Ale (named after Railton’s local government area) quickly sold out so beer production was ramped up to meet demand.
Seven Sheds meads include the Melomel (inspired by Tasmania’s black-currants and endemic pepper berries), medium mead and dry mead. A new batch of the popular sparkling mead will be available for summer.
Tours may be organised by prior arrangement at a cost of $7.00 and tastings are free of charge.
