Nunamina is an Aboriginal name meaning ‘bed or sleeping place in the bush.’ Overlooking the picturesque Franklin sounds, Nunamina can accommodate up to seven guests with five single beds and a fold-down double bed. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious living area with television. Continental breakfast is provided and can be enjoyed on the verandah where you can watch the trading boats and fishing fleet based in Lady Barron. Head down to the wharf, only a short walk away and try your luck at catching trevally, mackerel, garfish and squid. If you are feeling energetic, stroll to the top of Vinegar Hill and take in the view of the islands of Franklin Sound. Wander down to a safe swimming beach, just across the road. Spend an evening at Shearwater Restaurant located at the Furneaux Tavern at the end of your day exploring Flinders Island.
Flinders Island is a 45-minute flight away from Launceston or Melbourne.
