Beachcomber House
Beachcomber is a modern elevated two-bedroom beach house at Coles Bay on Tasmania’s Freycinet Peninsula.
Managed by Sheoaks, this passive solar house has an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, plus bathroom/toilet and laundry. Beachcomber’s kitchen is well equipped for holiday cooking and you’ll find everything else you need for a beach holiday – including a television in case of rain. The deck and main living area have superb views over a clump of sheoaks to Great Oyster Bay and the ranges beyond. It’s a five minute walk down the waterfront track to the local beach for a swim or to catch a flathead to barbecue on the deck.
A short drive brings you to Freycinet National Park with its famous Wineglass Bay walk. If the surf’s up ride a wave at Friendly Beaches. Enjoy bush walking, sea kayaking, canoeing and abseiling or take a cruise or a flight along the Freycinet coast. Return to watch sunset from the deck as you sip a glass of local wine accompanied by fresh Freycinet oysters.
Coles Bay is a two-and-a-half hour drive from Hobart (212 kilometres/132 miles) and two hours from Launceston (178 kilometres/111 miles) on Tasmania’s east coast.
