Kabuki by the Sea
Kabuki by the Sea offers Japanese-style, self-contained cottages on Tasmania’s east coast. Kabuki is located ten minutes south of Swansea, and is an hour and a half drive from Hobart (134 kilometres) and Launceston (133 kilometres).
There is a choice of one and two bedroom cottages, each with a fully-equipped kitchen, sitting and dining area and a separate bathroom. Designed in the style of a traditional Ryokan – a Japanese inn – Kabuki’s cottages have been furnished with Japanese antiques and paintings. The cottages sit on a clifftop, 24 metres above sea level and each has uninterrupted views of Great Oyster Bay and the Freycinet Peninsula.
You can indulge in fine food and wine in Kabuki by the Sea’s restaurant. Enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine, succulent local oysters and abalone and vintages from the best Tasmanian vineyards. The restaurant is open for dinner on a seasonal basis. Visit Freycinet Peninsula and explore the white beaches and turquoise oceans of the Freycinet National Park. See native wildlife, perhaps even humpback whales on their seasonal migration. Try sea kayaking, take a cruise or board a scenic flight for a fresh perspective of one of Tasmania’s first national parks.
