Gone Rustic
Gone Rustic is a textile art studio and gallery in St. Marys, north east Tasmania. What was an old service station has been renovated to become a showcase for the designs of Canadian-born Rita Summers, an award winning and published textile artist. Textile and fibre art, mixed media, quilts and other handmade items are on display and for sale. Gone Rustic specialises in supporting Tasmanian artisans and their work. Touring exhibitions and guest exhibitors are also featured at various times during the year, and workshops are offered on a regular basis.
You can purchase a unique handmade item onsite at Gone Rustic or buy online from the website. You can even enrol for a workshop! The Studio and Gallery are open 10:00am to 4:00pm Mondays to Fridays (and other times by appointment). When Ian Summers, whose day job is teaching, opens up his display of “old stuff” across the road, you can also see classic cars and collectibles (by appointment only).
St Marys is about one hour forty minutes’ drive (130 kilometres/80 miles) east of Launceston
