Le Frog Trike Rides offer trike rides at Bicheno on Tasmania’s east coast.
Trike rides are on VW-powered Australian-built trikes with an emphasis on fun and entertainment. Trike rides are guided by an expatriate Frenchman who designed the motorcycles used in the first Mad Max film.
Rides range from a 10-minute sample ride to a two-and-a-half hour food connoisseur’s ride.
Bicheno is just over two hours’ drive southeast of Launceston (174 kilometres/108 miles).

Chain of Lagoons Ride Trike TourThe Chain of Lagoons Ride Trike Tour takes you on a journey past beautiful waterways and sparkling coastal scenery. North of Bicheno lies the beautiful Chain of Lagoons, a series of coastal waterways, sand dunes and beaches. The ride to the Chain of Lagoons takes you along stunning coastal roads beside turquoise waters. The road meanders to the Chain of Lagoons, which is just near the Elephant Pass turnoff. After a short break you return to Bicheno. While containing your sheer excitement from Le Frog you will experience sights of the countryside and ocean front that will leave you stunned. All this in complete safety! Coles Bay Junction Trike TourThe Coles Bay Junction Trike Tour takes you on a sensational local road heading south. After only a few corners you feel what motorcycle riding is all about: the wind in your hair, the roar of the engine, the feeling of freedom, the sense of thrill, while the superb farmland landscape passes by. Ah...c'est bon!!! After 15-20 minutes of exhilarating thrills and scenery, you reach the Coles Bay/Freycinet turn off. After a short stop to catch your breath off we go again, all the way back north to Bicheno. Elephant Pass and the Pancake Barn Return via St Marys Pass Trike TourElephant Pass and the Pancake Barn Return via St Marys Pass Trike Tour is an excellent way to experience Tasmania's east coast. This tour takes you to St Marys, via Elephant Pass and the Pancake Barn, where we have a look around the quaint little town and then ride towards the seashore down St Marys Pass. It's then along a magnificent road snaking alongside the beach, offering stunning views and breathing in the fresh salty air. You then ride at a leisurely pace back to Le Frog's Lillypad in Bicheno. This ride takes about two hours and includes a gourmet crepe and a drink per person. Elephant Pass and the Pancake Barn Trike TourElephant Pass and the Pancake Barn Trike Tour is probably the most exciting in the touring range and suited for those who are not fainthearted. On this ride, we head for the Elephant Pass, between Bicheno and St Marys. It is a winding road, snaking up the mountain. You pass through native forest, and once at the top of this challenging and exciting road, you stop at the Pancake Barn to catch our breath and enjoy a huge crepe. You then head back down Elephant Pass, finishing the ride at a leisurely pace along the Tasman Highway and back to Bicheno. This ride takes about 90-minutes return and includes a crepe and a drink per person. Sample Longer Ride Trike TourThe Sample Longer Ride Trike Tour takes approximately 20-25 minutes. It has much longer stops and includes a comprehensive commentary from your trained, experienced and licensed driver. Relax and enjoy the little snippets of hysterical and historical anecdotes about Bicheno and its surroundings. Sample Short Ride Trike TourSample Short Ride Trike Tour offers a 10 to 15-minute ride taking in Bicheno's landmarks on Le Frog's magical trikes. Oh...la...la... You start on the panoramic open road, feeling the wind in your face, and then cruise to the famous Blow-Hole, for an exciting peep and a listen to the roaring fierce local waves. Then travel on the superb beachfront scenic drive, take a short stop at the spectacular Gulch to see fishing boats and the nesting place of hundreds of resident little penguins. You then head around the school compound and a short stop at pristine Waubs Bay before going back to Le Frog's Lillypad. Children, seniors and people with disabilities can safely board this initiation tour. Short Ride Heading South Trike TourShort Ride Heading South Trike Tour is an exciting 10 to 15-minute ride heading south. After a few corners, you already feel what motorcycle riding is all about: the wind in your hair, the roar of the engine, the feeling of freedom, the sense of thrill, while the superb farm landscapes zoom past. There is a short stop to catch our breath and off you go again, all the way back to Bicheno. It's a unique experience by three-wheel motorcycle on some of the best riding roads on earth. Swansea and the Haunted House Trike TourSwansea and the Haunted House Trike Tour heads for a 40-minute ride south of Bicheno to Swansea overlooking Great Oyster Bay, and the road to get there is a motorcyclist's paradise. Once in Swansea we take you to a haunted house, a graveyard where we will see something extremely unusual and an historical site. You just have to come with us to know the full story! After visiting the graveyard and the haunted house, it's off to a real murder scene where three people died: an old man, his murderer and a constable. A drink and a snack are inclusive in this ride, which takes about two hours. | |
