Greg and Gill’s Place offers self-contained accommodation in the historic town of Evandale, northern Tasmania.
The cottage sits in the gardens of one of Evandale’s oldest homes, providing a peaceful, private hideaway. There are two options, one wing is suitable for three guests and the other accommodates up to six. Both are self-contained with a separate bathroom. The cottage is separated from the old house (built in 1826) by a noble elm tree and there is a lovely rural outlook across fields to the Great Western Tiers mountain range. The breakfast provisions are special - fresh free range eggs and bacon, home cooked bread and biscuits as well as home-bottled fruit and jams.
You will be fascinated by your hosts’ model live stream train track and his museum of model cars, trains, cameras and other collectables. Its home to the Evandale Light Rail and Steam Society which meets there on the last Sunday of each month from 10am to 1pm. Join them if you are there.
The famous Evandale Market is conducted in the adjoining property and the antique shops, galleries, and cafes are close by. Evandale is a short 15-minute drive from Launceston (20 kilometres/12 miles).
