Enjoy rural peace on the banks of the Macquarie River with views of the beautiful arched sandstone bridge of colonial Ross. Choose from five rooms housed within an historic stone building. There are two that have four single beds, two with two single beds and one with a double bed and a single bed. There is a self catering kitchen and good heating. In addition, there are 20 powered and 20 unpowered sites with a covered barbecue and views of the river.
Stroll the elm-lined streets, sample delicious bread and pies from the bakery, enjoy a quiet drink in the pub and indulge in a traditional Devonshire tea by the fire in a charming old cottage. You can also browse among the beautiful garments and crafts in the Tasmanian Wool Centre. Throw a line in the river, catch a trout to cook on the barbecue, feed the ducks and swans. You might even see a platypus.
