Go Wild Tasmania

Go Wild @ Bonorong Wildlife Conservation Centre is a wildlife centre located at Brighton, southern Tasmania. You can see Tasmanian devils, spotted quolls, wombats and Forester kangaroos up close.
Go Wild @ Bonorong specialises in education, conservation and care of native Tasmanian animals. Established in 1981, the centre was originally a sanctuary for injured Tasmanian wildlife. Today, visitors have the opportunity to view a range of increasingly rare Australian animals and learn from rangers who specialise in wildlife research and conservation.
Although not endemic to Tasmania, you can see iconic Australian koalas nestled in gumtrees. The rangers can provide you with special food to handfeed the Forester kangaroos, normally only found in the wild on Maria Island and at Mt William National Park. ‘Bonorong’ is an aboriginal word meaning ‘native companion’ and the centre is committed to the conservation of Tasmania’s threatened species. Enjoy damper with jam and cream for lunch in the Bush Shed Café and find yourself a special souvenir in the Bush Gift Shop. Group rates are available for 15 or more people when booked in advance.
The centre is 25-minutes’ north of Hobart (25 kilometres/15.5 miles) along the Heritage Highway.
