Richmond Barracks (c.1830) offers comfortable, quality bed and breakfast accommodation in historic Richmond, Tasmania.
The colonial officers who originally lived in the barracks certainly didn't enjoy the superb comforts you will find at the beautifully restored stone building today. Built in 1830, this charming National Trust registered property is a restful haven with beautiful gardens to relax in.
Choose between Lady Esther Cottage which is a two storey cottage with lounge/kitchenette, two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, and the other with two single beds. There are two toilets and hand basins, with one shower. Lady Esther Cottage has reverse cycle heat pump and air-conditioner. An electric single cooker and pans are provided.
The Retreat has a lounge, double bed, single bed and en suite bathroom with reverse cycle heat pump and air-conditioner.
The Cellar is a studio style room with a queen bed and en suite bathroom with wall heating and fans.
They all have small kitchenettes equipped with a microwave, toaster, kettle, electric fry pan, and electric wok, microwave cooking dishes, crockery, cutlery, glasses, and electric grill.
A hearty continental breakfast basket is provided and delivered to your unit.
