ZooDoo Wildlife Park
ZooDoo is a children's zoo and fun park near Richmond, in Tasmania’s Coal River Valley. ZooDoo is five minutes’ drive west of Richmond, (six kilometres/four miles), and 30 minutes north west of Hobart (30 kilometres/19 miles).
ZooDoo is set on a 33-hectare (82 acre) farm. Here you can see Australian and Tasmanian native animals close at hand including Tasmanian devils, koalas, Forrester kangaroos, Bennett’s wallabies, pademelons, wombats and ringtail and brushtail possums. You can tour the park on Puffing Billy, a miniature motorised train, and hand feed the emus, ostriches and kangaroos along the way. Watch the miniature horse race and visit the animal nursery to see young domestic and farm animals in addition to rescued native wildlife. ZooDoo also has a number of native birds and exotic animals including capuchin and rhesus monkeys, camels, ostriches, llamas, buffalo, alpacas, Scottish highland cattle and deer.
Children can play for free on the jumping castle, merry-go-round and Viking ship. Drinks and snacks are available from the coffee shop and you can bring a picnic or enjoy a barbecue in the grounds.
