Jump Tours

Jump Tours based in Hobart is the ideal way for budget travellers to see Tasmania! You’ll see the world’s tallest hardwood trees, walk on white sandy beaches and swim in crystal clear waters. Gaze across stunning World Heritage wilderness while you breathe some of the freshest air on earth. Take the opportunity to sample the gourmet delights of the island, including delicious cheeses, smoked salmon and honey.
We show you stunning places that many people don’t even know are there, along with the places that have made Tasmania famous. In a place like this local knowledge goes a long way – you’ll hear about the history and heritage of the state, how the natural wilderness has changed over the millennia and some entertaining stories about the local characters!
So what’s the difference with Jump? You can cook for yourself or eat out as you please – we’re tour guides, not chefs! We use holiday houses and hostel accommodation – no cold tents on our tours. Our groups are small, our guides are young and they’re locals – so they know their stuff.
We pickup and drop off in Hobart, Launceston or Devonport. Special requirements - contact us and we’ll do our best to help out!

    Fantastic Five Day Tour

Our original circuit tour of Tasmania, the first three days match those of the Wild West Coast tour. Day four begins with a walk around the wonderful sights of Launceston, from the majestic Cataract Gorge to the Macaque monkeys in City Park. Heading east we take in the beautiful lavender fields of Bridestowe (seasonal) and admire the amazing chainsaw carvings at Legerwood. Further east we descend into the lush dairy country around Pyengana where cheese tasting is our first port of call! Meet the famous resident of the Pub in the Paddock nearby before we hit the east coast. The stunningly beautiful Binalong Bay is our lunch stop today. With snow white sands and crystal clear waters, this is a place that shouldn't be rushed! On the final day an optional wildlife park visit is up first – feeding time is an opportunity to learn more about unique animals such as the Tasmanian Devil and even give one a pat! Nearby, the Bicheno Blowhole is a spectacular natural fountain on the water's edge. Finally we reach the stunning Freycinet National Park and its most famous feature – Wineglass Bay. Often our visit coincides with that of a pod of dolphins.

Three Day Wild West Coast Tour

The rugged west coast embodies the stunningly beautiful wilderness for which Tasmania is famous. As we wind our way away from Hobart up through the Derwent Valley, the hop fields give way to the majesty of the tall trees in Mount Field National Park. An easy walk to the gorgeous Russell Falls is the perfect introduction to all that the west has to offer. As the first day unfolds you will get a sense of Tasmania's engineering heritage at the former hydro-electric village of Tarraleah, lunch beside the deepest glacial lake in the world at Lake St Clair and take in the untamed beauty of the Franklin River. On day two, learn about the ancient Huon Pines in Strahan or relax beside Macquarie Harbour with a coffee. Nearby, the magnificent Henty Dunes stretch along the coast overlooking the Southern Ocean. To cap off the day, Tasmania's tallest waterfall, Montezuma, is the impressive climax of a beautiful walk through dense rainforest.
