Seaeagle Sailing Charters

SeaEagle Sailing Charters offers relaxing half and full day sailing cruises in southern Tasmania.
Our cruises take you on the routes taken by whalers, settlers and convicts, on the scenic maritime highway that was once the only link between Hobart and her colonial outstations.
Tasmania is renowned for its stunning beauty, clear waters and abundant birdlife. Our cruises may encounter dolphins, seals, penguins and migrating whales as the shoreline glides by.
Our vessel, SeaEagle 5, is a large modern sailing catamaran with wide, stable decks and plenty of room to relax either in the salon or on deck. No sailing experience is required to join our sailing adventures!
Soak up the history of the Derwent River or Tasman Peninsula, taste the local produce, get up close and personal with the local marine life or just sit back and watch the world go by.
Small passenger numbers ensure you can relax away from the bustle of a busy schedule.
SeaEagle 5 is available for private charter by the hour (minimum two hours) or by the day, for up to 20 passengers on day cruises or six passengers overnight, with cruises tailored to suit your requirements.

    Full Day Sail Tour

Take a break from driving and busy itineries as SeaEagle 5 and her crew take you on a journey once taken by all who came to the Tasman Peninsula. Our full day sail will take you quietly along the foreshores of beautiful Norfolk Bay in the wake of the early settlers. We will sail past Cascades, Impression Bay, Premaydena and Saltwater River to the historic coalmines at Plunkett Point, and hear how these outstations helped shape the early days of the colony. At the coalmines, go ashore by dinghy to explore the ruins, or you can just relax on board enjoying the peaceful scenery with a glass of wine. You may prefer to use our kayaks to explore the sheltered shoreline. Lunch, featuring sumptuous produce from the Tasman Peninsula, will be enjoyed at anchor in a quiet bay before sailing back to Taranna with afternoon tea served along the way. See, taste and experience Tasmania differently! PLEASE NOTE: This tour departs from Taranna on the Tasmanian Peninsula. Not Hobart.

    Half Day Sail Tour

Leave the city's bustle behind and come aboard to experience the River Derwent, once lively maritime highway of whalers, settlers and convicts from the comfort of SeaEagle 5's spacious decks and comfortable saloon. With Mount Wellington forming a majestic backdrop for the historic city of Hobart, we will allow the wind to determine our course. Whichever way we go, there is something of interest for everyone, including great photo opportunities Relax and enjoy complimentary tea or freshly ground coffee and a Tasmanian cheese platter along the way. Beer and wine is available for purchase at reasonable prices.
