Tasmania is rugged and magnificent with spectacular scenery, some of which are now listed as World Heritage Area. Our personalized four wheel drive trips take in highlight of these spectacular areas and take you into the heart of true wilderness. We offer day tours such as the Arve Valley and the Hartz Mountain. Cruise the Gordon River, four wheel drive along an abandoned railway line and walk through rainforest. Tours range from one to six days or can be customised.
We offer half day coach tours of Hobart’s City Sights, Mount Wellington, Richmond Village, and full day coach tours to Port Arthur and Tasman Peninsula, Mount Field National Park and the Huon Valley.

Bonorong Park Car TourA tour of Bonorong wildlife park takes about two and a half hours. You will see Tasmanian devils interacting, wombats burrowing, echidnas feeding and quolls playing quietly. There are pademelons, emus, koalas and possums too, and wallabies and kangaroos roaming free. The Bush tucker Shed is open every day for teas and lunches, and can supply picnics with damper and billy tea to round them off. City Sights Car TourThe best sights Hobart has to offer - the Royal Botanical Gardens, historic Battery Point and Mount Nelson signal station, from where there are exceptional views over the city, the bridge and the Derwent River - in a three and a half hour tour. Hastings Caves Car TourThis tour of about eight hours heads first for Hastings Cave for a tour of the lofty chambers, stalactites, shawls and columns of Newdegate limestone cave. (Quite a few steps need to be negotiated in the 45-minute visit, but the cave is spacious, well lit, and there are no narrow passages.) A short walk through a fern glade brings you to the Hastings thermal pools in a beautiful fern glade setting. The natural average temperature of the pure spring water is 28.5 degrees Celsius. Water in the pool, and the next door childrens pool, is hygienically controlled. On the way back to Hobart - stop at the 48-metre-high Shot Tower built in 1870 for making lead shot. Mount Wellington Car TourFrom the 1271 metre summit on a clear day, you can see for 100 kilometres around - right over the city, down the DEntrecasteaux Channel to Bruny Island and way to the north. Even on sunny days, be prepared for cold weather on the mountain. Snow lasts into autumn. Port Arthur Car TourToday there is peace and tranquillity in the gardens and mellow sandstone ruins of Port Arthur, a prison for 12,500 convicts between 1830 and 1877. Ruins include the penitentiary, the officers headquarters and Irish agitator Smith OBriens cottage. Fitted out as museums to a grim past are the medical officers house, and the Model Prison, where you can see the chapel with individual cubicles for prisoners - in the belief that denying them contact with each other would rehabilitate them. The tour takes about eight hours from Hobart. Richmond Village Car TourA few TV aerials and traffic signs are all you would have to move in Richmond to use it as the location for a movie set in colonial times. The beautiful stone bridge built in 1823 is the oldest still standing in Australia. The gaol, now a museum, predates Port Arthur by five years. Theres a maze, a model of old Hobart Town and, behind the mellow facades, shops selling everything from gourmet deli lines and wine, to old lace, pottery crafts and paintings. Allow about three hours for this tour. Russell Falls Car TourThis double cascade is the most photographed waterfall in Tasmania. Lacy and gentle in dry weather, it is white thunder after rain. The path to the falls is sealed and level, quite safe for wheelchairs. A Tall Trees walk takes you through forest that features the worlds tallest species of flowering plant - magnificent swamp gums. On the way back to Hobart you could stop at Salmon Ponds, where the first brown and rainbow trout in the southern hemisphere were raised in 1864. There is a museum of angling history. You could even try a Devil Jet boat ride on the River Derwent at New Norfolk. The round trip takes about eight hours. | |
