Sullivans Cove Walks
Sullivans Cove Walks provide day and evening guided walks of Hobart’s waterfront, in southern Tasmania.
The informative one- hour tour includes the exquisite IXL Atrium, Parliament Lawns, Salamanca Place and Constitution Dock, home to the Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race finish.
Once a native food-gathering site, Sullivans Cove has been transformed from marshland into a working harbour. You will pass restaurants, luxury apartment hotels, sleepy fishing boats and rich green parkland.
The beauty, however, hides a dark past. Be captivated by the shocking stories of public hangings, convict chain-gang labour and the infamous ‘Black War’ that raged outside Hobart Town. Hear also of the Cove’s connection with Antarctic exploration, cruise ship visits, the 1975 Tasman Bridge disaster and relive the days when Hobart was one of the world’s great whaling ports.
Tour times are variable and depart from the corner of Davey Street and Hunter Street.
