Franklin Lodge
Franklin Lodge Bed and Breakfast a great base for your visit in the Huon Valley. Located in the charming historic village of Franklin, overlooking the Huon River, just 40 minutes drive south of Hobart
We offer four spacious well appointed private suites – our ‘Rose’ and ‘Lavender’ rooms are located upstairs, with ‘Magnolia’ and ‘Iris’ downstairs.
Franklin Lodge was originally built in 1850, in Georgian style as the house for the owners of the Kennedy Exchange. The house was converted in 1890 into the Federation style observed today. Franklin Lodge has been restored and renovated to provide modern facilities whilst keeping the ambience of the past.
A cooked breakfast is included in the tariff and is served in a sunny room overlooking the garden, we pride ourselves in offering something special to start your day. Try feta and spinach pancakes with mushroom, tomato basil sauce or be tempted with lemon ricotta pancakes or scrambled eggs with smoked salmon or banana bread. We use locally grown fresh produce.
Take a stroll through our delightful garden with roses, azaleas, rhododendrons and many beautiful trees. A pleasant spot to sit and write your postcards or pick fresh fruit - apples, apricots, nectarines, green gage.
