Lightwood Lodge
Lightwood Lodge is a self-contained holiday house located at Geeveston in Tasmania’s Huon Valley. Geeveston is located 70 kilometres south of Hobart.
Originally constructed in the late 19th century, Lightwood Lodge has been fully renovated. The three-bedroom house accommodates up to ten guests. There is a queen-size main bedroom and second bedroom with one double and two single beds. The third bedroom has two single beds and a fold out double bed with a bunk. A portable cot can also be provided. Other facilities include a fully-equipped kitchen, laundry and bathroom. The living area has an open fireplace, television, DVD/VCR and CD player.
The Lodge occupies a half-acre block, with direct access to the Kermandie River, which runs along the rear boundary of the property.
Local attractions include the Forest and Heritage Centre at Geeveston, or the Tahune Airwalk, a 30-minute drive from the Lodge. You can go walking in the Hartz Mountains National Park, or explore the caves at Hastings and swim in the thermal pool. Take a cruise or jet boat ride on the Huon River, visit a local café or restaurant or sample fresh Tasmanian produce at a Huon Valley orchard.
