Captain James Cook Caravan Park
Captain James Cook Caravan Park offers holiday accommodation on Bruny Island, off Tasmania’s south coast. Bruny Island is accessed by a 15-minute car ferry from the town of Kettering, 40 minutes south of Hobart (34 kilometres/21 miles).
Located on the east coast of the Island at Adventure Bay, Captain James Cook Caravan Park offers a range of accommodation including self-contained cabins and fully furnished caravans. There is a cabin with wheelchair access and facilities for guests with a disability, and some caravans also have units attached. Powered and water-serviced camping sites suitable for campervans, tents and campervans are also available.
Park facilities include the Big Green Shed – a welcoming, communal space equipped with a modern kitchen, tables and chairs and a wood heater. The Park is also the base for Ol’ Kid Fishing Charters. You can join a charter trip for a great day’s fishing and to see Bruny Island’s dramatic coastline.
The Park has direct access to Adventure Bay Beach – visited by explorer Captain James Cook in his ship the H.M.S Resolution in 1777. Here you can swim, picnic or take the walking tracks into South Bruny national park.
