Granny Gibbons Bay Jams and Emmas Tea Room
Granny Gibbons Bay Jams sits in a natural amphitheatre overlooking the bay named after the great-great grandmother of Rae Barry, who runs the jam factory and tea rooms with her husband Ross. You can enjoy scones and your choice of jam while you take in the spectacular view across to the other side of the Huon River.
Apart from the quantities, the jams are just as you would make them yourself if you had access to the bounty of the Huon Valley.
Of special interest in the factory are a huge old cauldron used for cooking the fruit and Ross Barrys low-tech machines for stirring and labelling. The brand name of the jams is Emmas Choice, after the same granny who gave her name to the bay.
